OS X has a lot of useful screen capturing features. The basics are achieved with keyboard shortcuts. But that only works for making triggered screen captures and doesn’t seem to have an option for including the cursor. Maybe I’m wrong about that. However, there is an application called Grab tucked in utilities that lets you set a specific cursor and a delay time before the capture happens. More so, the screencapture command line tool offers additional options.
